Adventure of the Key

It was a Thursday morning, and I was trying to sleep in a little bit longer. But the noises of tea cups and random rattling sounds from the kitchen table immediately woke me, but I still remained in bed. I started to remember the dream I had last night, it was about me being in the middle of nowhere, alone and with a huge BEAR. I started to run through the forest, having to nowhere to run I jumped on a tree. The bear chased me and started clawing at the tree trunk, it started climbing up, I had nothing else to do. So as if I was a lemur I jumped from tree to tree effortlessly. Of course, weird things like that only happen in dreams. Distant talk on the telephone, eases my attention to the subject. It was my dad talking to his friend, about a trip to the forest to pick some wild mushrooms, they wanted to leave the same day. The conversation seemed to vanish, and my mother rapidly opens my bedroom door, it gives me a jerking fear which passes, her booming voice says, "Get up, the guy is going to be here soon, get ready we're going to go get some mushrooms in the forest." I roll in bed and groan, not wanting to get up. Eventually I get up, get dressed and barley manage to eat anything. Gather my rain clothes, cause it always seems to rain. Take a few swigs of water and go outside to meet up with the guy that was going to take us up there. He shows up, we pack in our stuff in the baggage and cram into the tiny vehicle's back seat; me, mom , and dad. I notice the front passenger seat is missing, but that didn't bother us, at least we would have some more leg room. The guy backs out of the driveway and we drive out. Driving for over two hours, we go through many bending roads and travel higher on the mountain side. The weather seems to be fine, gray skies but no rain. We drive so long. Then we stop to the side of the road, the guy shows us a patch of wild Huckleberries. They were so good. We were excited to pick some. But then the guy said, "O.k lets continue so we will have time to pick some mushrooms." Traveling through the winding paths, that can truly make you lost. We finally reached a dirt road and parked to the side. We were putting on our coats and hats, and then we needed to get our boots out of the baggage. So the guy went to open the baggage, opened it, and went pale. He starred at the key, it was broken. The broken off piece was stuck in the lock.
Then it slowly got to us, how are we going to start the car. We were stranded in the middle of no where. But no body seemed to panic we just stood there with thought. We decided  to still go into the forest and look for some mushrooms and think of our situation later. Walking through the trees looking in bushes and around stumps and broken rubble. But never found anything, it was disappointing. Returning back to the car to only find, dad sitting inside it, and the guy missing. I asked dad where he went, he answered, "He went walking around, to try to find a signal on his phone." We continued to stand around the car, and to our surprise, my dad said "listen do you hear that?" It was the sound of a car coming closer. Me and mom went to wave it down. It came closer, it was a CRV. We looked inside and were shocked, it turned out to be our acquaintances and friends. We told them our situation and the man and women started laughing. They were also surprised to see us here. The woman said " Man God loves you, we came to your rescue." The man was good with technology, maybe he could help us, maybe even hot wire the car? He started looking around the steering wheel and disassembling parts. But he could not figure it out. The guy returned to find us with the new man and woman. The technology man asked the guy "Could not get a signal? Maybe we can drive out on my car to find a signal?" They left to get a signal, the woman left to pick mushrooms. And mom, dad , and me sat in the car and waited. Eventually the men returned, the guy called his wife so she can drive up and bring the spare key. We continued to wait, the guy found some mushrooms and so did the man and woman. But we found nothing, we just sat in the car. Hours passed, and the guy went walking to wave down his wife. The winding paths are very confusing to drive through, maybe she got lost. It started to rain, and started to become cold. We sat there waiting for a miracle. The man and woman returned from picking mushrooms and decided to leave. They offered to take me, and I went, I was not going to sit here. Mom and dad stayed behind and waited in the car. We left to find the guy that went walking, and maybe along the road meet his wife. We drove down one road, but did not find him. So we turned around and went down the other road. We found him on the side of the road. Picked him up and drove down the side of the mountain. We drove for nearly a hour and no signs of the guys wife. Finally reaching civilization we got a signal and the guy managed to call his wife. It turned out that she went on the wrong road, and also got her car stuck; but then dug herself out. They decided to meet at a spot both of them knew. We turned around the car and proceeded back to the meeting spot. We found her, then the guy and his wife went back to rescue mom and dad. The rest of us drove back home. It was some adventure; but one thing, always remember to have a spare key!
